✖ Character Info:
Personality: Grid is somewhat of a typical meathead that one would normally find in a military whom has little interests outside of the realms of training and fighting; most of which stems from his background as a mercenary. He is stern, glory-driven, disciplined, regimented, loves a good fight, and despises cowards most of all. Grid typically prefers to solve his problems in a straightforward manner, usually through violence, through the most simple approach. Though this does not mean he is without tact or strategy rather far from it but rather merely prefers to use the most efficient approach possible. As a Warrior, Grid fights with his all no matter the strength or skill of his opponent for even a tiger will use all of his strength even when hunting a rabbit.
Broken by his past, grid is a man who seeks to better himself in the realm of combat so that he will never lose or be embarrassed to such an extent ever again. Stemming from both his upbringing and from his last mission as a mercenary Grid possesses a deep seeded distaste for firearms which he now refers to as "Honorless" or "Worthless" tools which have no place in the higher realm of combat that he now finds himself in.
Due to his upbringing Grid is what one would call--almost Illiterate. This is partially due to his secluded village upbringing and the simple fact that the common tongue is not his first language. He is perfectly capable of reading numbers but much else is very difficult for him to decipher. There are also many words in the common tongue that he simply doesn't know. Due to this many people think of him as a man of few words but little do most know that he simply doesn't understand many of your words. However Maps he is essentially a prodigy at. He can tell you the time of day by looking at the sun or where they are on a map by a simple glance at the surroundings but as to reading the names on the map itself...
Somewhat antithetical to one of his discipline and background Grid suffers from what some would call "Constantly Late Syndrome" or in simple terms hes constancy tardy. Though this is usually due to him being preoccupied with training or, more usually, its has to do with his Illiteracy as he cannot read things such as flyers.
Likes:
- Fighting: Grid is a fairly straightforward man, he finds deep satisfaction over overpowering his opponents and even greater when he is able to defeat someone he considers to be far more skilled than himself.
- Training: Tied to his other true like Grid prefers to spend most of his free time bettering and enhancing his physical abilities.
Dislikes:
- Reading: Mostly due to him simply not being able to read the common tongue, and his own native language not possessing a written form, he simply has little care or use for the written word.
- Firearms: After having himself and his company being completely overpowered by a single nen-user Grid now see's firearms as a clutch that those who do not shed will never enter the greater realm of combat which is Nen.
Aspirations | Dreams: Apex - Grid seeks to reach the highest realms of Nen combat and thus become an "Apex Predator"

Hometown: Unnamed Mountain Village
History: Born in a small no-name village. Each and every generation of villager got by through a simple and ancient method--hunting. This was not the type of hunting in terms of Nen but rather the ancient method of simply hunting game. This small hunter village got by simply hunting and trapping enough food for the winter and selling enough pelts or other animal parts for supplies. From a early age Grid's father attempted to teach him the art that was taught to him by his father and most of all why modern conveniences such as firearms were a skill-less cowards tool worth less than the materials that made them. Though while these teaching stuck while he was young as Grid became a teenager he began to question these teachings. Why would they disavow tools that would make their lives easier?!?!
His life was turned upside down when he was hunting alone deep in the great forest and on this several week trek he came across a team of armed men who were 'working' nearby. These men introduced themselves as mercenaries to the young hunter and showed him how they hunted for game. After seeing how easy it was Grid asked them to teach him how to use a firearm only to quickly find out that he was a natural. Excited at the prospect Grid traded the soldiers several rare pelts for a simple rifle and took his new tool back to the village to show his father.
To his dismay however when he showed his father the rifle instead of curiosity or excitement Grid's father became angry and began to berate his child, all of which culminated in Grid being exiled from the village. Having no where else to go Grid made his way back to where he had me the mercenaries and tracked their movements back to their base. After explaining his situation, and seeing how quickly he picked up a firearm, they gladly offered him a position as a scout and tracker.
Nearly 10 years later there was little left within Grid's demeanor that would indicate he was from a small hick village but rather now he was a grizzled gruff mercenary with dozens upon dozens of contracts and jobs under his belt. Money, women, firearms, drugs; all of these things he had come across and partook in over the years. However in his finial year as a mercenary the company he worked for got a contract to infiltrate and eliminate all hostiles in a building deep within a rebellion. While this type of contract itself wasn't strange, in fact these types were their bread and butter as many governments didn't want the bad press that came with killing civilians and non-hostiles, what was strange about it as that the reports they got stated that there was only 1 hostile in the building.
A week later they found out why their entire company was hired to take out 1 man... and they realized why they needed more. After they infiltrated the building and engaged the target they quickly realized that nothing they did hurt the man. Bullets, grenades, clay-mores, rocket launchers nothing they threw at the guy made him bleed and within 10 minutes the only one who was left of the entire mercenary company was Grid himself. Even Grid himself doesn't know why but for some reason the man didn't kill him outright instead Grid merely received a single punch to the chest from the man, a punch that felt like being hit by a dump truck. Perhaps he felt that Grid had fought well, or maybe he was just... bored. No matter the reason after Grid took the punch he felt like he would rather die as his entire body felt like it was burning and being shredded from within. Little did he know that his Nen had been force-ably activated and only through natural talent prevented himself from dying by controlling it.
Nearly two days later Grid found himself in control the life force that was just previously seeping from his body and from that moment on decided to dedicate his life to perfecting it to not only become stronger than the warrior who defeated him but also so that no one else could ever again. Eventually he learned of the Hunters and decided on his next step.
